ANALYSIS OF AN URBAN PLAN

A city is an anthropotic landscape were lives a lot of people that don´t work on agriculture or
countryside works.

A good example of a city in Spain is Sevilla wich is located in South Spain specifically in Andalucía and has over 700.000 habitants. The city has a river called Guadalquivir and is one of the biggest and important cities of Spain.

The historic centre has an irregular urban layout because it doesn´t follows any grid pattern or something like that. It is  one of the biggest historic centres in Europe and archaelogists think it was created by the Phoenicians in an island of the Guadalquivir river. Historic´s centre function is residential and commercial. In the centre only live rich people because it´s very expensive to build there and shops are usually expensive or famous in the city or in the world. In Sevilla´s historic centre there are the same problems that in other cities, the irregular design of the streets makes difficult to control traffic because centre is very busy. Other problem is that some services like hospitals and schools are usually in the expansion zone or in the outskirts because they are big buildings and need a lot of space.

The expansion zone has a grid pattern surrounding the historic centre and has some "new" important buildings like the train station and the footbal stadium. We can differentiate it with the outskirts because in the outskirts there are white sheds, polygons and some houses for not so rich people.
It´s function is mainly residential because you can go easily to the outskirts and to the historic centre. Problems affecting this area are that traffic flows good but sometimes it can be difficult because of all the people living there and that there is a lot of noise until very late in the night.

The outskirts of Sevilla are very big and they are growing more to the right side of the river, specially a big ramification of commercial sheds and a big polygon that has nearly "eat" Alcalá de Guadaría. It´s urban functions are mainly commercial because there are white sheds used like stores, commercial centres and big shops. There aren´t a lot of people living in there and the few people who do it are usually in urbanizations of chalets. Problems affecting this area are for example that is too easy to steal things because police don´t go there very often and it takes people living in there a lot of time to go to the historic centre or to the expansion zone, where are the basic needs like food.
